The business of inn keeping allows one to live many lives, most of them vicariously. No, we don’t get to travel much, but who cares when the world comes to your door?
Such was the case again this past week when the Bentley Motor Club of New England rolled-in to use The Hancock Inn as base camp for a few days of motoring around the Monadnock Region.
Collectors all have stories. Many of them are stories unto themselves, all as a result of their passion for the things that interest them. Case in point, the group relaxed after dinner watching video footage of the sailing exploits of one club member who has sailed around the world numerous times. He arrived for the less strenuous adventure of driving around the New England countryside after having been 10 months at sea.
Passionate, are these people.
And rather a lot of fun, as well, which meant us saying good night and going upstairs long before they had decided the day was over.
Life is a highway – and some people are born to drive it.
