First week with the new web site and first opportunity to post on our own to the blog. The web site is now a template design relying on Word Press – far leaner and more flexible than the older, clunkier flash version.

It’s an open question how to use the blog space. We could write about the guests…but, no, probably not. What happens at the Inn, stays at the Inn. Instead, we’ll write about the weather, which is a very New England thing to do and, since it changes every few minutes, it gives us plenty to discuss. (Rain is in the forecast for today. Currently, it is bright and sunny.)

We’ll write about the wildlife. There is plenty of that to discuss, too. Bears, in particular, and moose, which are the two animals that arouse the greatest interest. There have been plenty of bear sightings this summer. Around here one is advised to take-in bird feeders at night if they don’t want them mangled by bears that are after the seed.

We will write about hikes and the scenery and new waterways that have been explored by canoe or kayak and try and post lots of those pictures. We will report on the art and music of the region exemplified by The Peterborough Players theatre and Monadnock Music.

We’ll write about the food – our food mostly. The Inn’s menu changes in another week for the summer, through September, so more on that later.

We will also probably write a lot about Potter, our dog. He is a Golden Retriever, known variously as Potter, Potts & Pans, or the Puppie-Wuppie. Yes, he is indulged, but he gives back and he loves the Inn business – which is a business, after all, of caring and affection, which makes it just his kind of work.
