Welcome to the Moses Eaton Room at the Hancock Inn!

The Moses Eaton Room is named after a famous stencil artist who actually lived in Hancock, New Hampshire. Moses Eaton was born in 1796 and died in 1886. He earned his living by decorating wealthy people’s homes with his interesting stencil patterns. The Hancock Inn used to have a few rooms with the original stencils; however, most were painted over years ago.

The stencil patterns on the walls of this room are copied from one of Moses Eaton’s original patterns discovered in one of our closets.
