Welcome to the Squire Patten Room at the Hancock Inn!

This room is named after David “Squire” Patten, who purchased the Inn 1829 and ran it successfully until his death in 1875. He was a one-time senator and served on the governor’s council. His close friend, Franklin Pierce, also a US senator, went on to become America’s 14th President. Pierce was born in Hillsborough, NH and was a frequent guest of the Inn.
