Rufus Porter Room

Immerse yourself in art and history in the Rufus Porter room; enjoy the Inn's only remaining full-room mural painted circa 1825.

Well-known American primitive artist Rufus Porter worked prolifically at the Inn, but most of his work was lost to the nature of horsehair plaster and the vagaries of decorating styles.  The mural makes this a signature room of the inn. An antique queen, maple bed and two wing-backed chairs aside the fireplace with electric stove and views across the back garden help conjure a feeling of old New England.
